Benjamin Ehst, MD, PhD, is a renowned, board-certified dermatologist with a caring and dedicated approach to his medical practice and a passion for research. Dr. Ehst provides the full range of dermatologic care, including medical and surgical procedures, and maintains a special interest in psoriasis and infectious diseases. He has been active in clinical trials of new medications including many of the cutting-edge biologic therapies for psoriasis.
Dr. Ehst’s training reflects his long-standing commitment to the field of medicine and fundamental biomedical research. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, followed by both a medical degree and doctorate in immunology from the University of Minnesota. He completed dermatology residency training at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he also served as a post-doctoral fellow studying the immune response to malaria at Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Ehst spent the early part of his career at Oregon Health & Science University as an associate professor in the Department of Dermatology, serving as the director of undergraduate training in dermatology and the director of the medical dermatology faculty. He successfully started a specialty clinic caring for skin-related issues in HIV-infected individuals and co-directed the multi-disciplinary clinic The Center for Excellence in Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Dr. Ehst publishes his work regularly in peer-reviewed journals and presents widely at conferences. He is extremely committed to training medical students and residents and providing high-quality care for his patients.
